Calling all traveling shutterbugs! We know you love to capture all the once-in-a-lifetime moments when you explore a new place, whether it’s of hysterical mishaps, beautiful landscapes, the locals, the architecture, the activities, or even other tourists. Now, we’re letting you show your money shots to the world, and get some major bucks/travel perks for it!
Every month, we’ll announce a photo theme. (See below to see the theme for February 2011). Send us your favorite candid photo that matches that theme – photos can be spontaneously goofy, collectively cool, downright charming, utterly thought-provoking – along with a caption and location where the photo was taken.
We’ll post all photo entries to our blog and whichever photo inspires the most comments, wins $1,000 in cash and/or hotel package gift certificates! The winning entry will also be displayed on GetawayPackages.com and on our Facebook page.
Details/Rules:
· You must be the photographer.
· Photo must have been shot in the United States, Hawaiian Islands and/or U.S.Territory within the last 12 months.
· All participating photographers will receive a Getaway Packages T-Shirt, luggage tag and a virtual high-five from us for your efforts.
· All entries and comments must pass the scrutiny of our censors – three grandmothers from the Midwest (or reasonable substitutes).
· Tell your friends, coworkers, and family to comment on your photo. Remember, the photo with the most comments WINS.
· All entries become the sole property of GetawayPackages,LLC with limited rights for reuse granted.
· Creative credit must be posted on or go with each entry for recognition.
· Limit one photo entry per person, per month.
· Winners will be announced on the last day of every month.

Think you’re a shooting star? The theme for the February 2011 Candid Tourist photo contest is LOCALS.
Send us your favorite photo capturing the spirit of the local people from anywhere in the United States or U.S. Territory by Friday, February 25. We will tally all comments and announce the winner on Monday, February 28.
